Google Sync now supports the iPhone. One more reason to ditch Palm Desktop.

Recently, Google announced support for the iPhone (and a number of other mobile devices) in its Google Sync product.

This is a really big deal, because it means you can actually keep your contacts and calendar on Google (gmail and google calendar) and bi-directionally sync this data to/from your iPhone.

Event better, making updates on the iPhone automatically updates the same information in Google Contacts and on Google Calendar.

In my opinion, if you own an iPhone and you're still using Palm Desktop because you don't want to make the jump to Outlook, then you should definitely consider this option, especially if you use Gmail (which has supported IMAP mail access for a while now, making it usable in the iPhone-native mail app).

Side Note: I haven't tested this with an iPod touch, but it should work like an iPhone.
